Maine has some great opportunities for kids to play hard at science and technology. FIRST Robotics is just that kind of opportunity, high school students working side by side with professionals in education and industry, developing skills and relationships that will last a lifetime. 2013 Granite State Regional Results
by John DiRenzo

Congratulations to Teams 58, 133, 172 and 3609!!

First, I want to thank everyone for all their kind words in response to my winning the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award at GSR. Thank you!

All Maine teams were outstanding performing incredibly well at GSR. It was quite exciting when all the Maine teams were chosen to compete in the GSR elimination rounds. 7th seed Team 61 choose Team 172 and Team 175 ,  4th seed Team 885 choose Team 1519 and 133 , 2nd seed Team 138 choose Team 131 and Team 58, and  1st seed Team 610 choose Team 4124 and Team 3609.

Seeding rounds:

Teams 172 and 58 kept playing hopscotch between 13th and 25th places (approx.). Both teams played outstanding matches throughout the seeding rounds. The little team of 3609 (6 members) lay in the dungeons awaiting their chance to burn through to the top taking down 133 once to climb a little higher in the standings. Team 58 used their mighty powers to upend Team 3609 in match 19 while Maine teams aligned with them in other matches helped inch them closer to the top in some cases. Team 133 had very high numbers for Autonomous, Hanging and Tele-op points, which demonstrated good performance even though low in ranking.

Seeding round results:

Team 172             18th
Team 3609          19th
Team 58               20th
Team 133             35th
